These are just my opinions on restaurants that I have visited around Philadelphia in 2022. I am not paid for these reviews in any way. Additionally, any negative remarks are for full disclosure and I would remind you that these are the _best_ restaurants in the city.

Zahav

It is very very difficult to get a table at Zahav. Luckily I was invited to a reservation in November and was able to tag along. We had the testing menu (This is the only option) and was it amazing! The plates never stopped coming and were even tailored to the dietary restrictions of the table. The absolute show stopper was the signature lamb dish. It is by far the best lamb I have ever tasted. A must try! However, they did charge 2$ for ice for my whiskey. Which seemed strange for such a fancy restaurant.

Monk's Cafe

Russian river beer on draft will always keep Monks at the top of my list. Even if Pliny the Elder and Blind Pig IPA are not your thing, you might find a beer you like on their gigantic list. The beer is just the start of the show at Monks though. There is also wine and cocktails available if you are insistent on not trying the beer. As for the food, Mussels had never been my go to sea creature to consume -- but try their seasoned mussels and your mind will be altered as well. I hope. My deep dark secret from monks is their vegetarian cheese-steak made with seitan. This may sound like the most un-philly thing imaginable, but don't knock it till you try it.

Pizzeria Beddia

I never thought I would dream about that time I had pizza with corn on it. Yet, here I am. Pizzeria Beddia is by far one of the trendiest spots in the trendiest neighborhood of fishtown. It lives up to the hype and then some. Always go to Beddia any chance you have! Make sure your party is not flaky because cancelling reservations within 24 hours notice can be costly. Oh also, did I mention the

South Philly Barbacoa

If you are looking for authentic mexican in Philly at a cheap price then look no further. A traditional restaurant that has been a neighborhood staple for years. There are only a few items on the menu to choose from, but you can't go wrong. The homeade tortillas brought back child hood memories!
